Police Warn Residents of Unscrupulous Solicitor

Solicitor has been calling residents and businesses, telling them he's raising money for the department.

Wayne police want residents to be aware of a solicitor who has been asking residents and business owners for money, claiming to be fundraising for the department.

The Wayne Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 136 posted about the solicitor its Twitter and Facebook accounts a few days ago.

“The Wayne Police Department and the Wayne PBA did not authorize this marketing company to call Wayne businesses and homeowners on their behalf,” the Facebook post read. “The Wayne Police Department and the Wayne PBA does not solicit by phone and the Wayne PBA does not support any organization that does.”
