Police: Oil, Fuel Leaking into Floodwater on Mountainview Boulevard

Foundation collapses at Leonardo Restaurant.

There were two emergency incidents reported on Mountainview Boulevard and one on Sherman Street this morning, Police Detective Capt. James Clarke.

Emergency services personnel responded to reports that the foundation of Leonardo Restaurant on Mountainview Boulevard was collapsing, Clarke said.

A fuel and waste oil spill was reported at Lenyk’s Automotive on Sherman Street, Clarke said. PSE&G shut off utility service to the property, Clarke said.

Oil was also leaking into floodwaters at Sal’s Visible Changes at 80 Mountainview Boulevard and at 82 Mountainview Boulevard, Clarke said.

No one was reported injured in any of the incidents.

Access to Mountainview Boulevard from Route 23 South and Lincoln is cut off due to flooding.

Fire Companies 1 and 2, the Wayne Volunteer First Aid Squad, the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department’s Hazmat Unit, Passaic County Health Department, and the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection responded to the incidents.
