Police: Man Found with Hypodermic Needles at Willowbrook

Jersey City man reportedly tried to steal costume jewelry from Lord & Taylor.

A Jersey City man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found with three hypodermic needles at Lord & Taylor in the Willowbrook Mall, Wayne police said Friday.

Officer Skylar Cauceglia reported that he responded to the store at approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the report, Cauceglia met with Susan Khater, a loss prevention associate at the store. Cauceglia reported that Khater detained Paul Pansini, who was suspected of stealing merchandise from the store on several occasions.

Cauceglia's report stated that Khater observed Pansini shoplifting $3,700 worth of costume jewelry Monday. The report states that Khater and Cauceglia identified Pansini concealing the merchandise in video footage they viewed Thursday.

Cauceglia reported that Khater observed Pansini concealing approximately $1,500 worth of costume jewelry on his person Thursday.

Pansini was found to be in possession of the hypodermic needles, which he reportedly used to inject heroin, and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, the report states.

Detective Capt. James Clarke said Lord & Taylor would sign complaints Friday regarding the thefts.
