Burglary on Black Oak Ridge Road Under Investigation

The alleged burglary occurred in broad daylight Tuesday.

The Wayne police department is investigating an alleged burglary that occurred at a residence on Black Oak Ridge Road at approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim returned home at 9:05 a.m. to find the window of the bathroom on the first floor pushed open, and the front door open, police said.

The victim said her husband stopped home at 8:25 a.m. and left at 8:30 a.m. Police believe the time frame for the burglary was between 8:30 a.m. and 9:05 a.m., police said.

Police said $900 in cash and assorted gold jewelry valued at approximately $8,500 was reported stolen from the master bedroom.

The investigation is ongoing.
