Two Men Charged With Stealing Willowbrook Mall Merchandise

Two Paterson men are accused of stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise Saturday, police say.

Two Paterson men were arrested after allegedly stealing $2,000 worth of merchandise from  Saturday afternoon, according to Wayne police.

Cornell Primus, 45, allegedly placed four True Religion fragrance kits in a shopping bag in Macy’s and exited without paying, police said. Primus then entered a blue minivan, driven by 44-year-old Ryan Rouse, and left the mall, police said. 

A GAP Loss Prevention Officer witnessed the event and informed Wayne Police Officer Jason Philippi, who was patrolling the area. Philippi pulled the vehicle over, and after reportedly seeing the shopping bags in the backseat and searched the car, according to a report.

Philippi found the four fragrance kits, 20 bracelets, two pairs of Nike sneakers, a black scarf from Aldo’s and black Gucci sunglasses, which the men confirmed were stolen, the report stated.

Rouse was charged with receiving stolen property, driving with unclear plates, as the license plate was partially covered, and driving while suspended. Primus, who had two prior warrants, was charged with receiving stolen property.
