Physician Indicted on Sexual Assault Charge
Leonard Joachim accused of sexually assaulting a female patient in August 2011.
A Wayne physician has been indicted on a sexual assault charge, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced earlier this month.
Leonard Joachim, 58, of Sparta, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 13 after a joint investigation by the prosecutor’s office Special Victims Unit, the Wayne Police Department, and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs’ Enforcement Bureau.
The assault occurred when Joachim was treating a female patient on Aug. 31, 2011 at his Hamburg Turnpike office, the prosecutor’s office announced.

Joachim was released on $500,000 bail.
The New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners has suspended Joachim’s medical license.
