Man Threatens Wayne ShopRite Employees with Syringe and AIDS, Report Says

According to a report, police say a man stole a cart of meat from the supermarket by brandishing a hypodermic needle and telling employees he had AIDS.

The Wayne Police are looking to arrest a man who they say stole a cart-full of meat from a township ShopRite Sunday by threatening employees with a syringe and telling them he had AIDS, nj.com reported.

According to the report, cops say the man - who they have not identified - went into the grocery store on Hamburg Turnpike at about 10 a.m. Sunday and filled a shopping cart with items and hid them with bags. When he tried to leave the store, employees confronted him, cops told nj.com.

After a brief struggle in the parking lot, the man allegedly took out a hypodermic needle, threatened the employees with it, and told them he had AIDS, the report said. He then drove from the lot in a Nissan Altima that had at least one passenger, the report said.

Police said they would likely arrest the man Monday afternoon, the report said.
