Man Suspected In Wayne Thefts Caught

Linked to incidents in Wayne and Riverdale.

A Bloomingdale man has been charged in connection with a burlgary and a theft that occurred on Feb. 11 and 15, respectively, police Capt. James Clarke said.

Marko Lukic was arrested Saturday in Paterson on warrants stemming from the two incidents, Clarke said.

Lukic and Robert Volpe-Bonomo burglarized a house under contruction on Michael Drive on Feb. 11, stealing tools and building supplies, Clarke said.

Wayne police detectives traveled to the Cash Convertors store in Saddle Brook and identified and recovered the stolen tools, which included an electric generator, police said.

Four days after the first incident, Officer Thomas Antonucci took a theft report from a resident on Styles Terrace. Police said the resident reported that two men had stolen an air compressor.

Police said the victim confronted the two men, later identified as Volpe-Bonomo and Lukic. Volpe-Bonomo was arrested Feb. 15, but Lukic remained at large.

Police said that Lukic is being held at Passaic County jail on $10,000 bail.
