Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Selling Oxycodone in Wayne

Paterson resident sold 300 pills on Alps Road for $8,400.

A Paterson man was sentenced to more than five years in prison for illegally selling Oxycodone pills in Wayne in 2010, U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman announced Wednesday in a press release.

Harun Arslan, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute Oxycodone before U.S. District Judge Jose Linares Wednesday, the release stated.

According to documents filed in the case, Arslan was sentenced to 63 months in jail for selling approximately 300 80-milligram Oxycodone pills to an individual on the corner of Alps Road and Hamburg Turnpike for approximately $8,400 on Nov. 24, 2010, the release stated.

Oxycodone is a highly addictive painkiller that can only be dispended by a medical professional or pharmacist.

Arslan was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.
