Screaming Wayne Man a Rude Awakening for Woman, Police Say

Daniel Munoz, 29, allegedly under the influence of drugs 'frightened' Franklin Lakes resident early Thursday morning.

A Wayne man was arrested in Franklin Lakes Thursday after police say he started screaming and yelling outside a stranger’s home for no apparent reason.

According to Franklin Lakes Police Detective Lt. John Bakelaar, officers responded to a borough home at about 6 a.m. Thursday after a resident complained that a man she didn’t know was at her front door screaming and yelling.

“The person at home was very frightened,” Bakelaar said.

When police arrived, they arrested Daniel Munoz, 29, and charged him with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and resisting arrest, Bakelaar said. Munoz was then transported to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, police said.

Bakelaar said he did not know what types of drugs Munoz had allegedly been taking, or how he ended up in Franklin Lakes at 6 in the morning. Police also said they were unsure why he was at this particular house, since Munoz and the homeowner did not know each other.
