Man Killed by NJ Transit Bus Identified

Victim did not have identification on him when he was killed.

Police have identified the man who was struck and killed by a NJ Transit bus Tuesday afternoon.

The man was 61-year-old Ramon Castillo of Bloomfield, Police Capt. James Clarke said. Castillo’s sister confirmed his identity after hearing of the incident.

Clarke said the incident is still being investigated and that: "nothing definitive has been determined on how it occurred."

Clarke also said authorities are searching for more witnesses.

Castillo was by a NJ Transit bus near the Willowbrook Mall at approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Castillo did not have any identification on him when he was killed.

The bus involved in the crash was on NJ Transit’s 191 line, which runs to and from Willowbrook Mall and the Port Authority Transit Terminal in New York City.
