Crash Victim Remains in Critical Condition

Sina Bachkhaz remains in critical, but stable, condition Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after her vehicle struck a utility pole Sunday morning, said police Capt. James Clarke.
Information on what caused the crash was not available Wednesday afternoon. The Wayne Police traffic bureau and the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the incident. Chief Assistant Prosecutor James Wilson did not return phone calls for comment Wednesday.
The accident occurred at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Hamburg Turnpike and Colfax Road. Bachkhaz was knocked unconscious. Hamburg Turnpike was closed for an extended amount of time after the accident.
