Commuter Snaps Photo of Bus Driver Reading While Driving Through Wayne

NJ Transit says it is investigating the alleged incident, report says.

NJ Transit is investigating one of its bus drivers who commuters say was reading a book while driving through traffic in Wayne during their morning commute, CBSlocal.com reported.

According to the CBS report, a commuter on the bus snapped a photo of the driver reading while going through stop-and-go traffic on Route 80 East in the township Tuesday morning. 

The unidentified passenger said the driver read for about 10 minutes until traffic cleared up, and then put the book down, the report said.

In a statement to CBS 2, NJ Transit reps said “We share the concerns of the customers who brought this matter to our attention. We are committed to ensuring the safety of bus operation and taking swift and appropriate action upon the completion of our investigation.”
