It is not too uncommon to see bears in Wayne.

Last year. a bear climbed up a tree in the front yard of a Black Oak Ridge Road property. The bear stayed there for a few hours before it came down and ran towards Route 23. A Wayne Police ranger attempted to lure that bear out of the tree using doughnuts.
