Pair reportedly linked to burglaries in Wayne and Riverdale.

Area police officers are looking for a Bloomingdale man who they have charged with burglary and theft.

Wayne police Officer Elliot Lyons was dispatched to a residence on Michael Drive on Feb. 11 to investigate a reported burglary and theft.

Police said the homeowner reported that tools and building supplies were stolen from the house and a shed on the property; detectives Dennis Ferray and James Faber responded to the scene to continue the investigation.

Police said the detectives identified one of the suspects selling the stolen property as Robert Volpe-Bonomo, 30, of Butler.

According to police, Volpe Bonomo’s accomplice was not immediately identified, but through the course of the investigation, it was determined that his accomplice was Marco Lukic, 29, of Bloomingdale.

Four days later, Officer Thomas Antonucci took a theft report from a resident on Styles Terrace. Police said the resident reported that two men had just stolen an air compressor from the resident’s front porch. Police said the victim confronted the two men, later identified as Volpe-Bonomo and Lukic.

According to police, one of the men told the victim that they were there to pick up the compressor and continued to load the compressor into the truck of a vehicle and the victim was able to supply a partial license plate from the suspect’s vehicle, described as a gray sedan.

Police said due to information uncovered by detectives from the Wayne Police Department, they contacted the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Pequannock and Montville Police Departments to assist in the investigation; at a meeting with members from the four agencies Feb. 16, officers discovered that Volpe-Bonomo and Lukic were involved in a theft the previous evening in Riverdale.

Police said Volpe-Bonomo was arrested in Butler and charged with the Riverdale theft and was incarcerated in the Morris County jail.

Police said Wayne detectives have since charged Volpe-Bonomo with one count of burglary and two counts of theft; his bail was set at $10,000 and he is presently still being held at the Morris County jail.

Police said Lukic has been charged with one count of burglary and two counts of theft; he is still at large, according to police.
