Alleged Shooter Arrested in Death of Wayne's Rinas

Teen had driven to Paterson to buy a handgun but was set up, NorthJersey.com reports.

A Paterson man shot and killed Isaac Rinas during an attempted robbery after the Wayne teen went to the city to buy a handgun, authorities told NorthJersey.com.

Quashon Faircloth, 27, of E. 26th St. is the third man charged in the June 26 shooting, which came just hours after Rinas graduated from Wayne Valley High School. Faircloth is charged with murder, felony murder and weapons offenses, NorthJersey.com reported.

Police say Rinas and a classmate, Casey Cole, 18, drove to Paterson in Rinas' Infiniti G37 after graduation in an attempt to buy a handgun. But it was an alleged setup: Cole and Bishma Cowan, 24, of Paterson, had planned in advance to rob Rinas when they arrived, NorthJersey.com reported.

Rinas and Cole were told to wait on Fair Street by Cowan, police said. Once parked, Faircloth entered the Infiniti and ordered Cole out of the car, NorthJersey.com reported.

Cole, a classmate of Rinas’, was charged Friday with felony murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery

Cowan was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with murder and robbery.

Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges in separate Superior Court appearances Tuesday morning, NorthJersey.com reported.

Cole and Cowan are being held on $2 million cash bail, although Judge Marilyn Clark advised them they have the right to seek a bail reduction in the future.
