Alleged Burglar Posts Bail, But Remains Jailed

Ronald Catti charged with eluding and burglary after authorities tried to pull him over in Wayne after he reportedly burglarized a home in Little Falls.

Ronald Catti, the tattooed man who led personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase through quite Wayne neighborhoods earlier in the week, remains incarcerated at Passaic County Jail despite posting bail.

Catti, 32, of Brooklyn, N.Y., posted bail Thursday on charges of eluding, burglary, and other motor vehicle summonses out of Wayne and Lincoln Park, but remains incarcerated on a fugitive from justice charge out of New York, said William Maer, a spokesman with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.  

Catti’s bail was set at $150,000 out of Wayne and $75,000 out of Lincoln Park. Wayne charged Catti with eluding and various motor vehicle violations after he .

Maer did not say how the bail was posted or who posted it.

Authorities attempted to stop the Mercedes Benz Catti was driving after Wayne and Little Falls police determined Catti committed a burglary in Little Falls Monday afternoon, Wayne police said. Catti was attempting to return to a house he was staying at on Pleasantview Drive.

Authorities found Catti in a children’s playhouse in the backyard of a residence on Kossouth Place at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

Catti to the charges in Wayne Municipal Court Tuesday.
