Residents could save between 10 and 70 percent on their medications.

Residents can get a free discount card for their prescription medications thanks to a new plan to be unveiled next week.

The Passaic County Freeholder Board will unveil the new plan at its next meeting Oct. 8.

The county is partnering with ProAct to offer residents with a free card. Residents may use the card to obtain a discount on name branch and generic prescriptions. On average, people could save 10 to 20 percent on brand name and 20 to 70 percent on generic medications. One card covers a whole family.
