Missing William Paterson Student Found Dead, Report Says

According to a report, the 21-year-old student died of an apparent suicide.

A William Paterson student who was reported missing was found dead, according to an nj.com report. The student’s body was found in Lodi after an apparent suicide, the report said.

Kirk-Andeno Lawrence was found in a wooded area in Lodi Saturday afternoon at about 3 p.m., the report said. He had been reported missing the morning before, it said. University police, Lodi police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office investigated the disappearance of the 21-year-old Paterson resident.

William Paterson President Kathleen Waldron posted the following message to students on Facebook:

With profound sadness, I am writing to inform you of the death of Kirk-Andeno Lawrence, a William Paterson University commuter student from Paterson who was a sophomore, majoring in Biology. Kirk-Andeno was reported missing early Friday morning and we learned this afternoon that he was found deceased in Lodi. Campus police report that he appears to have passed away as the result of self-inflicted wounds.

I send my deep condolences to Kirk-Andeno's family and his friends.

I hope that our campus community can provide some comfort and support during this sad time.

The Office of Student Development will provide information regarding funeral services as soon as it becomes available.
