Friends Say Erin Quinn was 'Beautiful,' and 'Witty'

Quinn was killed Thursday when the car she was driving on Route 80 left the roadway and crashed into a tree down an embankment.

Erin Quinn’s friends described the Wayne Valley High School Class of 2013 alumnus as being a “bright, sweet young lady” online.

Quinn was on her way to the County College of Morris Thursday when she was killed in a car crash on Route 80, state police said.

Quinn was driving on Route 80 westbound at about 9:30 a.m. when her 2001 Saturn left the roadway near mile market 47 in Parsippany, state police said. The car crashed into a tree on an embankment. Police are still investigating the accident, NJ.com reported.

“Erin is such a beautiful girl and she was very witty,” the Napolitano family said on Quinn’s obituary webpage.

“Erin was a bright, sweet young lady who will be missed,” Maryanne O’Connor said.

Quinn had a “special place in her heart” for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the obit states. She first visited the hospital during a class trip.

“(Erin) was my world,” Leah Morgan Brown told NJ.com via Facebook. “She was my absolute best friend, we were together every day. She was a sister to me. Everyone loved her. She ad a beautiful impact on everyone she met. …She had a beautiful heart and soul. She was incredibly smart. I looked up to her for that.”

According to her obituary, Quinn is survived by her parents, Kathleen Quinn, of New Port Richie, Fla.; and Barry Quinn and his wife, Lise, of Wayne; her brothers Brian Quinn, and Ian Smith; her step-brothers, Ben and Noah Kautz, and grandparents, Barry Quinn Sr. and Dolores Quinn, of Woodland Park; and the late Bob and Elizabeth Sager.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vander May Wayne Funeral Home in Wayne.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 8:30 a.m. at Vander May. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church in Wayne at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142.
