Former Wayne Board of Education Secretary Dies at 77
Elizabeth 'Betty' Healy died Thursday at Care One.
Elizabeth ''Betty'' Healy, age 77, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Care One at Wayne. Mrs. Healy was born April 24, 1936 in New York, NY the daughter of the late Charles and the late Anna (Farelly) Sheridan. She grew up in the Bronx and later moved to Wayne then Wanaque. Betty was employed as a secretary by the Wayne Board of Education and previously at Shiseido in Oakland and Myron Schwartz Title Agency in Wayne. Betty was a parishioner of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, Wayne, previously she was a Eucharistic minister and member of the Amity club at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church. Betty was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She is survived by her husband Denis; her children, Elizabeth and her husband Bill Myers, Marianne and her husband Pete Mc Guire, Julianne Healy and Dennis and his wife Paula; a sister, Mary Sheridan; and her grandchildren, Meaghan, Brendan, Sean, Shane, Shannon and Jack. Betty also leaves behind many dear in-laws, cousins and nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Murtha.
Visiting hours were Sunday.
The funeral Mass was Monday at Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne and was celebrated by Msgr. Peter J. Doody.

Interment was held in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
