Wayne Salon Owner Finds Amsterdam Trip Brings New trends and New Appreciation for Crosswalks

Amsterdam trip brings new trends and new appreciation for crosswalks.

As Creative Director and owner of Faces Plus Salon at 229 Berdan Ave., I have traveled extensively to seek out advanced education for myself and my staff. I recently returned from the prestigious L'Oreal World Tour in Amsterdam, where I participated in a five day workshop that included top stylists from around the world.

I have previously attended the tour in Washington D.C., Rome, Paris, Barcelona, and  London.  I had never been to Amsterdam, and was  impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the city.  I have to admit the one downside was lack of walking room for pedestrians.  Between the trains and the cyclists there are few safe places to walk in the streets ...  very different from New York but I kept on my toes.

The workshop focused on  training yourself to think "outside the box" and it introduced us to new techniques of using color to accentuate the haircut. I am a firm believer in education and am proud to have been invited to the event. I will share this experience with my staff via advanced classes.
