United Way Donates $2,000 to Wayne Food Pantry

Non-profit provides assistance to dozens of Wayne families every month.

The United Way of Passaic County donated $2,000 to the Wayne Interfaith Network's food pantry (WIN).
The pantry, a non-profit made up of members from 17 houses of worship in Wayne, provides monthly groceries to dozens of Wayne families.
"In general, the need for food assistance in general is growing and we try to provide as much help to communities that need it," said Yvonne Zuidema, president and CEO of the United Way of Passaic County. "WIN is providing a great service to the community and stretching their money as far as it can. We're more than happy to help them out."
The pantry is based at the Wayne YMCA. It relocated there earlier this year. It used to be located at Packanack Community Church.
"We're very grateful and thankful for the donation," said Herb Schuman, WIN's vice president. "There are a lot of local families who will be blessed by it."
