The owner of Femme Fit is holding Glisten for a Cure Saturday, a fundraiser to help a client who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“The woman we are trying to help, she doesn’t know how much treatment she’ll need,” said owner Jessica Sanchez. “She’s really going through a rough time and I just thought we should be there for her. She faces several unknowns in her future such as chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and the worry of how she’s going to finance it all.”
Tanja Scherle, a Riverdale resident, is a single mother of two boys. She has had two surgeries already this year.
Attendees may attend a Zumba class, Piloxing class, which is a combination of Pilates, boxing, and dancing, and a performance by a young competition cheerleading team. Door prizes will be given away.
Sanchez is in need of donations for gift baskets for the door prizes.
The fundraiser will be held at the Wayne Police Athletic League on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
