Eagle Scout Candidate Collecting Shoes for Needy

Eagle Scout candidate Danny McGrady is collecting shoes for a nonprofit for his community service project.

McGrady is colleting new and gently used shoes for Soles for Souls, a nonprofit that donates shoes to people in the United States and abroad who need them.

Shoes can be dropped off between Aug. 2 and Aug. 30 at the following locations:

Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, Packanack Community Church, Wayne town hall, the Packanack Lake Clubhouse, the Wayne First Aid Squad headquarters on Hamburg Turnpike, and Zeppelin Hobbies on Route 23 North.

McGrady is trying to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes.

All Eagle Scout candidates must complete a community service project as part of earning the award.
