Understanding Dementia: A Primer for Caregivers

JFSNJ's Sam and Nina Wolf Caregiver Support Center and Arden Courts of Wayne present Part I of II:  Understanding Dementia: A Primer for Caregivers.
When a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, it can be overwhelming for everyone involved.  This seminar will provide you, the caregiver, with a basic education about the different types of dementias, and what to expect over the course of the disease.  It gives you practical tips for dealing with the challenges that can arise when caring for a loved one with dementia.  The panel includes Dr. Gamil Makar, Geriatrician; Laura Hawkins, Alzheimer's Association; and Melanie Lester, LSW, Jewish Family Service of North Jersey.

Program is free and open to the community but advance registration is required and space is limited.  Light refreshments will be served (dietary laws observed).
For further information, please contact: Melanie Lester, LSW (973) 595-0111
