Free Women's Legal Education Workshop

Wayne, NJ.   Women in Transition is offering a FREE Legal
Education Workshop
on Wednesday, July 24  from 1:00-3:00 pm. It is open to all
women in Passaic County and neighboring towns who are considering
separation or divorce. Get the information you need to make better decisions
regarding your rights and your financial future. Learn why doing a credit check
on yourself and knowing about your health insurance rights after divorce is
important. Other topics include recent
updates to family law, alimony and child support, and the mediation process.

Women In Transition (WIT) assists
women who need to re-enter the workforce due to separation, divorce, or the
death or disability of a spouse, resulting in the loss of their primary source
of financial support.  WIT is funded by the State of New Jersey, Department of Children and
Families and in part by the N.J. State Bar Foundation. WIT offers vocational
testing, job readiness classes, separation and divorce support groups, and
computer training at no cost for eligible women.

at 1022 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne. Wayne Counseling and Family Services
(973-694-1234) provides counseling
for drug and alcohol abuse and treatment for marital, family, and mental health
problems. Other services include community programs such as educational
seminars and workshops on stress, self esteem, assertiveness training, and
