Critical Chronic Blood Shortage Ignites WAYNE INTERFAITH BLOOD DRIVE

Blood Drives January 12th and 19th

New Jersey’s chronic blood shortage has arrived and ‘we' are the only source!  While

one pint can save three lives – New Jersey, with the lowest percentage of

donors nationwide (3.2% vs 5%) must import over 31,000 pints of blood per

year.  New Jersey has relied on blood

from other states but now many are in short supply as well.

In Aug. 2012 the Outreach Committee of Packanack Community Church joined forces with other churches in town to form Wayne interfaith Blood Drive.  Robust efforts drew 86 donors and again, in 2013 they collected over 164 pints of blood–  “doing together what couldn't be done alone”.

…and blood is still
urgently needed:

Every 2.5 seconds someone

needs blood - if we all gave blood 2 to 4 times a year could these shortages be prevented? Check for local drives or

contact local hospitals.
