Mayoral Candidates
Republican: Chris Vergano. He is seeking re-election to a second term.Democrat: Jane Hutchinson
At the heart of the mayoral race was the issue of redevelopment. Vergano introduced a plan earlier in the year he developed that would call for the rezoning of several business districts to allow mixed-use properties to be developed.
The plan drew the ire of several residents and a community watchdog group. Vergano announced at a candidates night the plan was being put on hold until a ruling on affordable housing was issued form the state.
Council Candidates
RepublicansCouncil: The three at large candidates are all incumbents seeking re-election. Joseph Schweighardt, Lonni Miller Ryan, and James Jimenez.
1st Ward special election for a two-year unexpired term: Richard Jasterzbski.
Democrats
Council: Victor Alfieri, James Jorgensen, and Bethania Marranzini-Marmolejos.
1st Ward: Gary Marchese
Board of Education Candidates
Running for three, three-year termsIncumbents: Mitchell Badiner, Robert Ceberio, and Allan Mordkoff. Challenger: Christian Smith.
