What to do About Our Schools?

Residents have until tomorrow to file to run in school board election.

This has been quite a year for school districts. Governor Chris Christie has proposed reforms to the state's pension system and has targeted educators in recent months as being at least partly to blame for the ever-increasing property taxes in the state. He has and signed an anti-bullying  earlier this year.

School districts' tax levies can only be increased 2 percent annually thanks to legislation Christie signed earlier this year.

Those residents who wish to run for election to the Wayne Board of Education this year must submit the proper paperwork by tomorrow afternoon.
