Wayne Valley Track and Field Athlete Receives Scholarship

Stephanie Easse was awarded a $1,000 from the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Stephanie Easse has received a $1,000 college scholarship from the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

Easse graduated from Wayne Valley High School last month. She helped her team win the Passaic County girls’ track and field championship in May. She won the discus and finished second in the javelin.

Easse earned her Girl Scout Gold Award in 2012. She collected thousands of coupons and purchased food for the Wayne Interfaith Network’s food pantry and Eva’s Village, a homeless shelter in Paterson.

Lorenzo Burke from the Passaic County Technical Institute and Danielle Caruccio from DePaul Catholic High School each received a $500 scholarship.

The NJSIAA gave $133,000 in scholarships to more than 170 high school students throughout the state this year.
