Wayne Kids Will Perform Musicals This Month

Young actors appearing in 'Rent' and 'Schoolhouse Rock' musicals at the Wayne YMCA this month.

Children and teenagers from Wayne and the surrounding municipalities will stage two productions at the Wayne YMCA soon.

Children 5 to 12 years old will present “Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.” The production is about Tom, a schoolteacher who is nervous about his first day on the job. He tries to relax by watching television only to have various characters representing facets of his personality emerge. They show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. Includes the songs “Just a Bill,” “Interjections,” and “Conjunction Junction.”

The performances will be held Saturday, July 20 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 21 at 2 p.m.
