Volunteers Needed to Help at Laurelwood Every Tuesday

Groups can help beautify 30-acre facility until October.

Volunteers can begin to help out at Laurelwood Arboretum on Tuesday.

Individuals may volunteer at Laurelwood every Tuesday and the first Saturday of every month from 9 to 11:30 a.m. until October. Volunteers helping on Saturday will operate in the areas of the 30-acre facility that need the most work.

Individuals will meet in the pavillion. Attendees should bring gloves, small hand tools, and water to drink.

Laurelwood features several woodland trails and gardens, wildlife, two ponds, and some streams. There are hundreds of varieties of rhododendrons, azaleas, and other unusual species of plants and trees to see.

In addition to gardening, there are a number of construction projects to maintain the bridges, paths, greenhouse and other structures.

Laurelwood Arboretum is located at 725 Pines Lake Drive West.
