Volunteers Needed to Help Beautify Laurelwood Arboretum

Thirty-acre facility features a variety of trees, plants, flowers, and wildlife. People may volunteer on Tuesdays or Saturdays.

Volunteers are welcome to help out at Laurelwood Arboretum every Tuesday and on the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.

Laurelwood Arboretum is a 30-acre property home to a diverse number of trees, plants, flowers, and wildlife. Hundreds of varieties of rhododendrons, azaleas and other unusual species of plants and trees cover the landscape.

Gravel paths wind through the preserve. Runners, birdwatchers, and photographers use the facility often.

A sensory garden was dedicated at Laurelwood last year. The garden contains a variety of flowers, shrubs, and other plants that provides attendees with an opportunity to enjoy what nature has to offer.

Educational programs on a variety of subjects, including butterflies, are held at Laurelwood throughout the year.

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum (FOLA) is a non-profit that is in charge of all volunteer activities in the park. FOLA and the town jointly maintain Laurelwood.
