VIDEO: Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Santa Claus meets with some of Wayne's younger residents; the Wayne Hills Chamber Choir performs.

Residents of all ages showed up for the township's annual holiday lighting ceremony at the Thursday night. 

Dozens of children yelled with excitement as the blue, white, and multicolored lights came on. 

Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up in a firetruck covered with holiday lights. The pair met with young residents, posed with families, and gave out candy canes.

The Junior Women's Auxiliary sold cookies and brownies. Proceeds went to the Wayne Food Pantry. 

The performed various Christmas carols, a cappella.

"This event always brings people together," resident Kathie Hartkopf said. "This year, we needed it especially, collectively, because of everything Wayne has been through."
