Town Will Pick Up Downed Trees on Private Property

The township will collect cut up trees that were damaged or fell on private properties during Hurricane Sandy.

Beginning Saturday, Nov. 17, work crews will begin picking up trees and debris from private properties.

Crews will use the following guidelines when conducting pick-ups:

• Trees must be cut into pieces six feet long or shorter.
• Only pieces of trees damaged during the storm will be taken. No other debris will be collected.
• Trees must be placed at a curb and not block roadways.
• Personnel will not go onto private property to remove trees. Trees should not be placed against fences, mailboxes, fire hydrants, or telephone poles.

Township parks and forestry crews and department of public works personnel continue to work on removing more than 800 trees township owned trees that were destroyed or damaged as a result of Sandy.
