UPDATE: Three Car Accident on Valley Road

One man was injured and taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.

Three people were extricated from a car Monday after a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Valley Road and Nellis Drive, police said.

A man was driving northbound on Valley Road when he ran through a red light at the intersection of Nellis Drive and struck another car, causing that car to hit a third car, police said.

The accident, which involved a Cadillac Escalade, a Nissan Altima and another vehicle, occurred around 2:40 p.m., police said.

The drivers in the accident were identified as Albina Biba, 26, Rick Ruddy, 24, and Michael Kopcha, 68, all of Wayne, police said.

The three occupants were sent to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson. Firefighters helped remove Biba, a 19-year-old male from Linwood and a 42-year-old female from Ridgewood using the jaws of life, police said.

Albina suffered a facial injury, the 19-year-old male has shoulder/upper arm pain and the 42-year-old female has neck pain, police said.
