Dozens of properties in what is perhaps the worst hit area of town with regards to flooding using state and federal money.

A home in the low-lying section of town .

We’ll let you know how the neighborhood looks and how it has changed since the buyouts began.

  • An application to construct a Walgreen’s on Hamburg Turnpike is scheduled to go before the Planning Board again on Monday.

The store would be located where the former Friendly’s restaurant was located.

The board of adjustment last year to construct a Walgreen’s at the same location. That store was to have an LCD screen that displayed store sales and other information.

That's OK Wayne Township, us poor taxpayers will just pay taxes for another VACANT BUILDING on Hamburg Turnpike. Can anybody GUESS how many VACANT BUILDINGS AND BUSINESSES are on Hamburg Turnpike between Haledon And Pompton Lakes ?

a Walgreens would help that section, hey a junkyard would help that section. Take a good look at the condition of the old Channel location, it is looking like a hulk falling to ruin. can WHM be far behind. we need some urban renewal for that section.

Hey BOE, How come your not having your meeting in the new soundproof room at the Administration Building ? That's right, you only hold SECRET CLOSED DOOR MEETINGS in that room. Guess your not hiring anybody's friend at this meeting.

Hopefully this town will come to its senses and work out a plan for Walgreens to come in. Their buildings are very nice and it would be a benefit to have them in town. Not only would it improve this immediate area but it would give the town a greater ratable over a vacant Friendly's building. Possibly,, increased competition with Drug Fair and CVS will get us more competitive pricing.

Regarding the Walgreen's development of the Friendly's building, I watched the meeting before the Planning Board two weeks ago and I taken back by the arrogance of the mayor towards the professionals representing Walgreen's. If Wayne is trying to present a business friendly persona he certainly is not demonstrating that. To their credit I thought the prfessionals representing Walgreen's were just that, professionals.

George, why do you think the building is still sitting there ? The Mayor is just a political puppet that has different people carry him around by his strings.

OH NO, God Forbid you should have an electronic sign in Wayne. "Hey Mayor & Council come out of the stone age". This is one of the most unbuisness friendly towns around. With tax ratables down 35 million you would think they would be begging for ratables. But heck, this is Wayne the residents will make up the loss with the never ending tax increases. Gotta hand it to them they have the residents in this town trained well. Their command is " Just keep paying more and more, we get richer and you get poorer". Our town motto should be " Relocate to Wayne where the tax increases never end".
