This Week: Flood Victims Fight For Their Home And Wayne Is Sponsoring A Farmer's Market

Here is a look at what we're working on this week at Wayne Patch.

Here are some of the stories we're working on this week at Wayne Patch:

  • Councilwoman Lonni Miller Ryan is sponring a number of information session for flood victims. Ryan, together with local organizations like Wayne VOAD, will present information to flood victims about how they can best clean their homes up after a flood event, how to file the proper paperwork with the appropriate agencies, among other useful information.
  • The township is sponsoring and organizing a farmer's market later on this month. Officials are looking for local and regional farms to participate in this event. Each paticipant will receive a certain amount of space to sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and other appropriate products for free at the . We'll tell you how you can get involved in the event.
  • There are families in Wayne that are still recovering from Hurricane Irene. One family who lived in the Old Wayne section of town is still fighting with their insurance company to help rebuild their home. We'll talk to this family and let you know how they are doing and how exactly they got into the months-long situation.
  • The Board of Education will meet on Thursday. We'll attend the meeting and let you know if any more information is released or discussed regarding the hiring of new administratiors in the school district.
