Facility ready to be used, authorities say. Power outages already reported in town.

A shelter at Kilroy Park for flood victims and those who lose power is ready to be used, town officials said.

There will be cots and showers at the facility. There is heat and electricity at the shelter so people can charge their cell phones. Meals will be provided. The shelter will be staffed with volunteers.

A shelter was created at Kilroy Park last year after Tropical Storm Irene.
