Rowe Wins District's Only V Award This Year

Hills student received honorable mention for his coverage of the football team's game against Hackensack High School.

Christian Rowe received the district’s only V Award this year.

Rowe, a student at , received an honorable mention for his game coverage of Wayne Hills vs. Hackensack High School.

The awards honor the best in student media production in the tri-state area.

Hills will receive a $1,000 grant from MSG Varsity.

Rowe and several other students, took home a V Award last year for best Full-Game Production. The award was discontinued this year.

Josh Mordkoff and Alex Green were nominated for best On-Air Sports Talent and best play-by-play/color commentator, respectively.

A team from Wayne Valley High School was nominated for best sports feature.

“They worked hard and tried their best,” said Jim Hoogestrate, video production teacher at Hills. “You can’t win them all, but I’m really proud of all the work the students did this year.”

Hills has won five V Awards, and $25,000, in the last two years and .

MSG Varsity received more than 2,100 entries this year. The competition was so close this year that the honorable mention awards were given out for the first time.
