Restaurant Hosting Fundraiser for Injured Officer

Da Vinci Ristorante will donate 25 percent of sales Dec. 12 to Officer Bob Franco and his family.

Da Vinci Ristorante is hosting a charity fundraiser for Officer Bob Franco.

The restaurant will donate 25 percent of sales on Wednesday, Dec. 12 to Franco and his family to aid in his recovery.

Franco was severely injured when a tree fell on the vehicle he was in the night of Superstorm Sandy. Initially immobilized, Franco has steadily recovered from the incident.  He underwent seven hours of surgery following the accident.

Lunch will be served at the restaurant from noon to 3 p.m., dinner from 4 to 10 p.m.

The event is one of several fundraisers that have been held for Franco.

Farms View donated a portion of its sales from a day last week. Two Wayne women organized a charity run in the days following the accident. Lakeside Pub held a charity concert last month.

The Wayne UNICO club is selling Poinsettias to raise money. The last day to buy one is Friday.

The Wayne Policemen’s Benevolent Association has set up an online donation form on Paypal so people can donate electronically.
