Resident Named First 'Ellen' Underwear Model

Mike Wolfinger is one of dozens of people who submitted pictures of themselves wearing Ellen Degeneres's trademark briefs. He appeared on the show that was broadcast on Monday.

Resident Mike Wolfinger was named the first Ellen underwear model on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Monday.

Wolfinger was one of dozens of poeple who submitted pictures of themselves or their family or friends wearing DeGeneres' brand of underwear. He and four other models participated in a walk-off on a catwalk on the show.

The final three contestants had to correctly answer trivia questions during the last round of competition, a special Know or Go segment.

In addition to being named the first Ellen underwear model, Wolfinger received a $5,000 American Express gift card and a one-year supply of Ellen underwear. A photo of him wearing the underwear will be placed on the side of the studio where the show is filmed. He was also named the show's Ellen underwear correspondent.

DeGeneres said Wolfinger is a Purple Heart recipient "who wears his heart on his sleeve" and is "addicted to watching Ellen."
