Race Will Raise Money for Food Pantries

Calvary Temple church sponsoring event to help stock their food pantry and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Calvary Temple International Assembly is sponsoring the Race for Hope on Saturday to help raise donations of food for needy North Jersey families this holiday season.

Proceeds will benefit Hope Ministries food pantry. The pantry provided food, clothing, and additional resources to hundreds of families each year who struggle to makes ends meet.

Proceeds will also be given to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, one of the largest food donation organizations in the state.

The 5-kilometer and 1-mile long courses will start across the street from Calvary Temple. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.; start time is 8 a.m. 

The courses are flat and weave through residential neighborhoods.

A special kids' dash will be held at 9 a.m.

Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female winners in several age groups. Results will be posted online.

Registration costs $20 if completed online by Thursday and $25 on the day of the event. All donations are tax deductible. Kid Dash participants are asked to bring a can of non-perishable food. Participants will be given a T-shirt.
