Alleged Car Burglar to Have Pre-Trial Conference

18-year-old was charged with burglary and theft after police say he broke into vehicles near his home and then was found unconscious on the front lawn of a Hampton Terrace residence.

Representatives in the case involving Dylan Brothers are scheduled to meet for a pre-indictment conference on Sept. 20.

Brothers, 18, a Wayne resident, of a house on Hampton Terrance the morning of Aug. 15 after he reportedly broke into two vehicles in the area, said.

Daniel Yablonsky, a Superior Court judge with the Passaic County Criminal Division, has jurisdiction over the case because the charges against Brothers are indictable.

Indictable matters pass through municipal courts for arraignment and processing purposes, said Lori Ellicott, Wayne Municipal Court Administrator.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes reviews cases with indictable charges and decides whether or not to remand them municipal court or push it up to Superior Court.

The hope is to introduce evidence at the conference, said Linda Johnson, a member of Yablonsky’s staff.

Wayne Municipal Court representatives did not say last week why the case was transferred to Yablonsky.

It could not be determined if a trial date has been set or not.
