PBA's Annual Golf Tournament will be May 17

Event held in memory of fallen officer.

The Wayne Policeman's Benevolent Association Local 136 is sponsoring its annual golf tournament in memory of Officer Joseph Alvino who tragically died in 1994 at the age of 35.

The annual tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17.

Alvino was a strong supporter of the New Jersey Special Olympics. He was instrumental in projects and events for the Special Olympics, including the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run, the barrier-free playground installed at Ryerson School in Wayne, named in his honor, and other events involving handicapped children.
