Man Accused of Attempted Murder

A Wayne man has plead not guilty to attempted murder in the shooting a Paterson resident on Nov. 15.

Brian Curry, 24, was arrested last week after the Vernon and Paterson police departments conducted a joint attempted murder and narcotics investigation.

A 20-year-old Wayne man was drunk when he struck a utility pole and fled before returning to the scene on Parish Drive Sunday night, township police said. Raymond Morales, 20, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

Resident Makes Device to Limit X-Ray Exposure

Samantha Music has created a product to reduce the risk of X-ray exposure for patients who undergo spinal cord surgery.  

Music, a biomedical engineering major at the Stevens Institute of Technology and Wayne resident, entered a device she created into the Start Something Challenge.

Passaic County Prosecutor a Pioneer in Court

Camelia Valdes’ life has been a series of firsts. She is the first in her family to graduate from high school. The first in her family to attend college. The first Latina prosecutor in the history of New Jersey. And the first lead prosecutor of Dominican ancestry in the United States.

Former Gov. Jon Corzine appointed Valdes, a Wayne resident, to the position of Passaic County prosecutor in 2009.
