Newcomers, Previous Winner will Perform at Rockfest

Annual concert will be held Saturday. Designed to give kids a safe place to hang out, free of drugs and alcohol.

Eight bands will take to the stage for the annual Rockfest concert Saturday.

The bands will compete for a $500 prize. The three-and-a-half hour concert is designed to give kids a safe place to hang out without being tempted with drugs or alcohol. The concert is being held at the Wayne YMCA. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Alcohol and Substance Abuse is sponsoring the concert.

The line up is:

7 p.m.: Whale

7:30 p.m.: Abandoned Calamity

8 p.m.: 23 Missed Calls

8:30 p.m.: GNGR

9 p.m.: Ape 98

9:30 p.m.: Scarlet Rush

10 p.m.: A Week’s Notice

10:30 p.m.: Backtrackers
