New Frozen Yogurt Shop Caters to Adults and Kids

Kids can play games on iPads while mom and dad enjoy a cup of coffee at Wayne's newest desert shop.

The newest frozen yogurt shop in Wayne isn’t just for kids.

Let’s YO! Yogurt opened a few weeks ago with a mission to cater to families.

“It’s got a different feel than the other frozen yogurt places out there,” said owner Mike Passafaro. “There’s something for everyone here.”

Several frozen yogurt shops already exist in town. Red Mango opened in 2011. Twst’d caters more to families and teenagers while Yogurtini focuses more on bringing women through its doors.

Like its competitors, Let’s YO! features a variety of flavors, including favorites like strawberry, peanut butter, and Oreo cookie to the more unusual like sea salt caramel pretzel and espresso. Customers can choose to mix two varieties to create a new flavorful creation. Prices are calculated by weight; the rate is 49 cents an ounce.

There’s a variety of kid-friendly toppings, including Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Fruit Loops. There’s also a variety of fruits, nuts, sprinkles, and other sweet treats, including Reese’s peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, and cookie pieces.

Kids can play games on an iPad or watch television while mom and dad can enjoy a cup of hot coffee. The hardwood floors, white seats, and green booth backs give the inside a more homely feel than its competitors.

“Customer service is the most important thing to us,” Passafaro said. “We don’t just want to be a place for kids to come, we want to be a place where families can come and spend some time together.”

Let’s YO! is located in the Blue Star Shopping Center at 1055 Hamburg Turnpike.  It is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
