Little Trunk or Treaters Celebrate Halloween After All

Impromptu event held at the Wayne YMCA Wednesday afternoon.

Hundreds of little trick or treaters and their parents filled the Wayne YMCA parking lot on Wednesday afternoon for a special Trunk or Treat event.

Dozens of Wayne parents passed out all kinds of sweet treats out of the back of the minivans and cars.

Attendees were eager to get out of their homes and enjoy some time with their families.

"We needed this, no doubt about it," said Kathy O'Rourke, who was at the event with her children. "This whole area has been through a lot this week. It's nice just to enjoy some time with each other."

Town officials cancelled trick or treating on Wednesday due to concerns regarding public safety.
